Phoenix 38 - info wanted

Main Post:

I recently purchased a Phoenix 38 - a full keel fiberglass sloop built in South Africa (Cape Town) in 1972.

Here she is: http://imgur.com/23s4U4e

Other than the rock solid evidence that my boat physically exists, I can't seem to find any information on the manufacturer. The internet hits that I have found are specifically my boat.

There is a Phoenix Yachts - that appears to be an American powerboat / fishing boat manufacturer - but I don't think it has any relation to my boat.

She has a hull number of 4, so I am assuming at least 3 others were made.

Has anybody heard of Phoenix boats from South Africa in the early 70s?

She's a good boat - I'm just curious for more information / history.

Cheers

It seems The Phoenix 38 and Phoenix 42 were both built by Halstead Marine in South Africa and designed by E.G. Van de Stadt. His company, Van de Stadt Design, is still in business, so I suggest you contact them for more info.

Halstead Marine doesn't appear to exist anymore, and I had no luck in a brief search digging up anything on them.

Looking for info on the club scene from locals!

Main Post:

Hi there, I'm taking a trip to Phoenix in a few weeks time and was wanting to get some info on the club scene there. I'm going with some friends who have family in the Scottsdale area that we'll be staying with. I hear there are some clubs there but just wanted to see what locals with firsthand experience think would be the best spots to go. Any information is appreciated!

Scottsdale is a very good place to start, although I haven't been there in a while. Mill Ave in Tempe is also a great place for clubs!

Info for anyone who wants the Starborn Phoenix on GoG or any save you can load into the Goatfungus save editor

Main Post:

It can be obtained via the Goatfungus save editor by importing the ship data from a Steam save, i first tried editing the GoG NMS account data to match the Steam version but had no joy, but discovered that just exporting the ship data and then importing into the GoG save worked

https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor

https://github.com/zencq/NomNom (or the nomnom editor)

Simply load your save into the editor, open ship tab and click import, select ship file, once info is in the editor make a save and then load game and check to see if it's there in the summon list

This should also work for any NMS save file that can be loaded into the editor

Make sure that you have a free ship slot before using the editor

Ship data in link below

If link does not work let me know, pretty sure i've got it set so it can be viewed by everyone with the link

Top Comment: Alternatively, you could grab the Consumerism mod from Nexus. It has the Switch pre-order ship too: https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/2062?file_id=38198 Just remember that mods break with updates, so I advice you to get rid of it once you unlocked what you wanted.
